We sat down with hypnotherapist, Reiki master, and manifestation expert, Anna Pepe, in a virtual Brain Food interview. She shared insights on developing an abundance mindset for creatives and entrepreneurs. Her perspective offers a fresh take on overcoming challenges, reframing rejection, and maintaining a positive outlook in the face of adversity.
We broke down the many gems from the conversation into 5 main takeaways below.
The Essence of Abundance
Anna began our interview by explaining the value of an abundance mindset and its affect on her personally. She shared, "An abundance mindset is a mindset that I've purposefully adapted to thrive in abundance, as a creator, as an entrepreneur, and just in life in general." She emphasized that this mindset isn't just about financial prosperity, but also about attracting love, support, and recognition for one's work.
At the core of this mindset lies the concept of "enoughness." Anna stressed, "If you yourself don't feel like you're good enough, then how can you ever receive enough? How can you ever receive abundance if you yourself don't believe that you're good enough to succeed in your field, to stand next to your peers?"
Affirming your worthiness and that you are enough is vital for existing in a frequency that attracts abundance.
Shifting Perspectives on Scarcity
We asked Anna about overcoming scarcity thinking, and she highlighted the importance of perspective when it comes to comparison or handling rejection. "We have to remember that what's true for you doesn't have to be what's true for others, and vice versa,” Anna shared, “Don't call it rejection. Don't call it failure. To the mind, those words have negative connotations... These words will automatically bring up negative energies, negative emotions."
She went on to explain that our perspective materializes in our physical world. "If you are rejected in some way, or you're not receiving the recognition you feel you deserve, it's not because it's not available. It's not because you're not good enough or not worthy."
Anna offered a powerful reframe for dealing with setbacks:
"A few closed doors doesn't equal scarce opportunities. It just means that the right doors haven't opened yet. As one door closes, another opens. The door that's about to open is going to be bigger, better, and more aligned."
Rolling with punches is key in the life of a creative entrepreneur. Take closed doors as an opportunity for aligned growth.
Tools for Cultivating Abundance
Anna shared several valuable tools for cultivating an abundance mindset. She emphasized choosing to respond rather than react, adopting perspectives of abundance instead of lack, and acknowledging one's "energetic minimum" to begin working on raising it.
One particularly intriguing tool Anna discussed was hypnosis. She explained, "When you listen to a hypnosis track and your mind has been in that state where your subconscious is easily communicated with, and you listen to that hypnosis track for over 21 days, it starts to form a new neural pathway. This is actual rewiring, physical rewiring."
Anna also shared a powerful affirmation to amplify this internal rewiring:
"Thank you source for knowing everything so that I don't have to"
This simple phrase reminds us that there's a bigger picture beyond our immediate challenges. Use it on a daily basis to lay worries to rest and cultivate abundance from within.
Balancing Work and Life Abundantly
The conversation shifted to maintaining an abundance mindset while balancing work, life, and creative endeavors. Anna's perspective was refreshing: "Part of adapting the abundance mindset means reminding myself that I have enough time, and canceling out this narrative of 'I'm running out of time,' or 'I never have enough time,' because that only allows for energy of lack and scarcity to be promoted."
She emphasized the importance of honoring one's own pace and energy levels. "When I'm feeling low energetically, I allow myself to rest. A lot of entrepreneurs, a lot of creators, they push past that and just get the work done. I don't believe in that, because that implies you don't have enough time, you don't have enough space to rest and recharge."
To ensure your work and life balance is healthy and sustainable, honor your energetic ebbs and flows. Remind yourself that you have more than enough time to achieve your goals.
The Power of Perspective
Throughout the conversation, Anna consistently returned to the theme of perspective. She emphasized that our view of the world shapes our experiences and opportunities. By consciously choosing to see abundance rather than scarcity, creatives can open themselves up to new possibilities and overcome challenges with greater ease.
Anna's insights remind us that developing an abundance mindset is not about denying difficulties or pretending everything is perfect. It's about choosing to see opportunities where others might see obstacles, and trusting in our own inherent worth and capabilities.
As creatives and entrepreneurs, we often face uncertainty and rejection. But by cultivating an abundance mindset, we can navigate these challenges with greater resilience and optimism. We can learn to see closed doors not as failures, but as redirections toward better-aligned opportunities.
In conclusion, Anna offers a powerful framework for creatives to thrive in their personal and professional lives. By shifting our mindset, honoring our worth, and reframing setbacks as opportunities, we can cultivate a more positive and fulfilling creative journey. As Anna reminds us, "Everything starts in the mind." Remember this and you will be able to manifest more abundance in your life.
